I need to say that i believe as Human Beings we are enigmas to ourselves
Looking at the wonderul map of Human progression from 150000 years ago on the Bradshaw web site I was astounded to see that in 74000 BC a super eruption decimated World population to less than 10000 adults.There are indeed alot of enigmas in the rise and fall of huamn civilisations.

For example Before 3000 BC, Crete was settled by a people who probably came from Asia Minor, who, by 2000 BC was already living in cities, trading with other nations in the Mediterranean, and employing a hieroglyphic system of writing, probably derived from Egyptian hieroglyphicsThe principals the Minoams lved by and the skills they had took thousands of years to mature. After an earthquake occurred (and there were many) the Minoans rebuilt and using much better principals than before. Perhaps the instability of their environment accelerated their learning. Archeological evidence shows how they learned to segment water pipes, so earth movement could occur and cause a minimum of damage. Class inequality was minimal, everyone shared, even their property. This was not because being proto-communists but because they felt a religious and social relationship to each other. They traded without cash in a barter system for money was yet to be invented! Cattle were the leading form of barter and Minoans flaunted their wealth by playing games with them. The Minoans did fight battlesand had a war with the Egyptians but after a long standoff where both lost their preferred method was to negotiate.

Another enigma is Ancient Egypt . Below the Sphinx enormous artificial chanbers have been found the size of cathedrals containg vast canals and artefacts including areas for the storage of enormous batteriesThey have also found perfectly oval crystal eggs with unknow inscriptions in their centres. The dates. Who knows ---- probably 10000 to 20000 BC ???

Remote radar sensing by NASA has also shown enormous canals crossing Africa virtually from coast to coast They are prehistoric!!!???

So what does this say for evolution of Huamnity and who we really are and the evidence with respect to the research with mitochondrial DNA needs to be looked at in context.
